Fake Rolex Watches

Found this at http://www.siamnaliga.com/forum/index.php?s=cb8943221451c229ec5a7b5ed00281b9&act=ST&f=4&t=50438

Rolex Green Submariner, Counterfeit VS Authentic
A visual review, inspection, and comparison

The authentic Green Sub, Series “F”
Since the “Green Sub” is one of the sort-after items, it’s natural that many counterfeiters, good or bad, have been emerging and circulating around in the market, especially on a brand like Rolex. I was lucky by getting a chance to closely inspect both the authentic & counterfeit ones. The following is a visual comparison between the two. On one hand it might be awakening fake watch manufacturers to come up with a better fake, on the other hand it’s fully beneficial for SNers who would face the situation that requires decision or judgment.

Here were the two watches side by side

In looking at both watches from distance or scanning through briefly, ones couldn’t even pick what is real or fake. However, with closely observe or using magnifying loupe for some details, what separates the real from the fake can be seen. All comparison below is organized in a way that
the fake is on the left w/ red text while the real is on the right w/ blue text.

 Pearl at 12 o’clock

Markers, Date aperture

Bezel Printing and alignment

Crown, Screw & tube, O-ring, and stamp

Solid end-link, clasp, stamped logo

Extended link for fitting on wet-suite

Above are just some samples one could easily spot on the watches. There are some more details which are even easier to notify, for instant, the luminous material on “the real” is always brighter, bezel of “the real” is slightly wider, and so on. This post is not to show how good a version of “fake watches” is but solely for educational purposes. The most important thing is “hand-on” experience and “time” ones put into study. There is no short-cut to be well-informed buyers.
